Recycling Day: Summer 2009

Companies that use many different technologies end up with significant amounts of unusable computer equipment and peripherals. These typically require special disposal and are not handled through the normal minicipal waste channels due to the quantities involved. With that in mind, S3 Technologies took the initiative and conducted its second recycling drive for customers on May 22nd. We went to client locations to gather unwanted computer equipment.Our personnel, from the president on down, volunteered in shifts to drive around Montreal and transport all the equipment to Geep Ecosys where the material is properly processed. On the whole, our clients were very well prepared and organized, facilitating our task and making it so much more enjoyable. We gathered nine full pallets of towers, computer screens, printers and other miscellaneous junk. That was nearly twice as much as our last recycling drive! Our plan is to keep doing the drive twice a year to ensure that client computers don't end up in a landfill.
